The baby dinosaurs did not stay little for long.
They grew bigger and stronger every day.
Soon, the nursery was too small.
The team moved the dinosaurs to a safe holding area deep under the library. They added strong gates, cameras, locks, and alarms.
Hammond was excited.
“One day,” he said, “people will be able to see these amazing dinosaurs for themselves.”
Dr. Fern nodded. “They will need lots of space and safe habitats.”
“A park!” Hammond said.
Dr. Malcolm Reed frowned.
“A park full of dinosaurs?” he said. “What could go wrong?”
At first, everything seemed fine.
The dinosaurs stayed inside.
The doors stayed locked.
The cameras worked.
But then little problems started.
Lights flickered.
Doors were slow to lock.
Cameras froze.
Nedrick rushed around fixing things.
“Too many systems,” he muttered. “Not enough help.”
Dr. Malcolm watched the lights blink.
“You may think you are in control,” he said, “but I’m not so sure.”
The dinosaurs were contained.
