PHASE II for Kids (June 8–June 14)

THE BREAKTHROUGH

As the team kept digging under the library, they found something shiny in the rock.

It looked like a little golden stone.

But it was amber.

Inside the amber was a tiny mosquito.

Dr. Fern looked closely and said, “This mosquito may have bitten a dinosaur!”

That meant there might be dinosaur blood inside.

And inside the blood… there could be dinosaur DNA.

The scientists got very excited. They wanted to use the DNA to learn more about dinosaurs.

Some pieces were missing, so they used frog DNA to help fill in the gaps.

Dr. Malcolm Reed was worried.

“Just because we can do something,” he said, “doesn’t mean we should.”

But Hammond was too excited to stop.

The team was not just studying dinosaurs anymore.

They were trying to bring them back.

YOUR JOB AS A DNA RESEARCHER:

READ

The amber discovery changed everything!

When you read and record your minutes, the team can keep studying the mosquito and the dinosaur DNA.

Every minute helps the research move forward.

Keep reading. Keep recording.

Something amazing may be waiting in the lab!

*Level three is locked for now. Keep reading and recording your minutes. Your progress will be ready when the next part of the story opens.

PHASE II CHALLENGES

The fossil dig has turned into something much bigger!

Now the team needs helpers who can think like scientists.

Learn about DNA, cloning, and how dinosaurs may be connected to animals today.

But remember what Dr. Malcolm Reed said: discovery is exciting, but we must be careful.

Phase II Challenges are open now!

Complete a challenge to earn bonus points and a drawing ticket.

Stay alert, DNA Researcher. The lab doors have opened, and the next discovery may change everything.

*Other challenges may appear, but are locked for now. Keep checking back. New challenges will open soon!
